Summary Accomplishments

  • In 23 years of journalism, demonstrated excellence in beat reporting, feature and column writing, editing, staff and ad copywriting, and project management and relations with such clients as Ameritech, Pacific Bell, Arthur Andersen.
  • As first and only editorial employee at a startup web service, I designed, produced or sourced all content for two weekly newsletters, and an online business travel magazine. Developed third party content relationships.
  • Developed process, style and staff performance protocols for a new daily multimedia news product delivered on cable.
  • Helped launch three new weekly special focus sections to mix of 14 Features sections at Daily News in Anchorage.
  • Edited American Society of Newspaper Editors award-winning "The 10th Child" series on cocaine-damaged babies.
  • Edited and contributed to Benjamin Fine Award-winning "Kids at Risk" special section on high school dropouts.

  • For four months, managed daily updating of the NewsNet on the Oregon Business Channel web site; writing for Oregon Home, Oregon Business magazines; editorial content planning, writing and management of illustrators and photographers, plus client relations for new eight-page newsletter to Work At Home customers of Pacific Bell; speechwriting (Arthur Andersen), proposals (CA One Services), business plans (Theme Creations Inc.), copywriting (Kitchen Kaboodle 30-minute animated TV spot, airing Fall 1998), catalogs and print advertising (Oztex).

  • Concepted, wrote or sourced all content for web-based magazine aimed at independent business travelers, plus two weekly newsletters, one with content of and about the travel industry, the other targeting route-specific airfare deal information to subscribers based on their expressed preferences. Strategic role in identifying and developing relationships with other content partners.
