GM India Science Laboratory

In addition to GM R&D's major research facility in Warren, Michigan, USA, the company recently established a Science Laboratory in Bangalore, India. The India Science Laboratory will focus on projects that complement the research programs ongoing in Warren and will also undertake new exploratory projects of high value to GM. Initially about 60 people will be employed at the new laboratory.

Why establish an India Science Laboratory? GM recognizes the world-class scientific talent available in India. Indian scientists have achieved significant success in a number of fields, including nuclear energy, space exploration, computational sciences and information technology, electronic design and control automation, aircraft and space vehicles, and materials and chemical sciences. These accomplishments demonstrate scientific and technical expertise that have direct bearing on the four thrust areas that the India Science Laboratory will target:
