THE BEREANS

Our name and our aim are found in
Acts 17:11

"These (dwellers at Berea) were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things (which we taught) were so."

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The wise author of the book of Ecclesiastes wrote: "The preacher sought to find acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth. ...of the making of books there is no end. (Ecclesiastes 12:10,12)

So why publish another web site?

By God’s grace, we want to begin with GOD, the Creator-Owner-Builder, and attempt to share these truths by way of overview, building our MODEL starting with Genesis 1 "In the beginning God - created the heaven and the earth." To set forth the great truths of Free and Sovereign Grace in the salvation of sinners in language that seekers might know where to start in their search.

Paul speaks of those who have a "love of the truth."
Jesus said, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst."
David wrote, "One thing have I desired that will I seek after."
"Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths."
"...early will I seek thee: my soul thirsts for thee..."
"My soul thirsts for the living God"
John in Revelation, "Thirsty? Come and take of the waters of life freely."
Isaiah cried,"...every one that is thirsty, come ye to the waters."

Thus it is our intention to primarily address the "hungry ones"; "the thirsty ones", the "seekers"; and all who have "a love of the truth." While we desire to set forth plain biblical truth, we do not want to (at this stage) belabor many technicalities, or provide all the material of solid books. (There are many such and we will provide a selection under LEARNING AIDS that will lead you further in that which we have begun.

Therefore it is apparent that we are not here to argue with "theologians"; preach to preachers; or quarrel with the contentious. We will however make every attempt to aid in your seeking, to point the way to the wells of water in this "dry and thirsty land where no water is." (Psalm 63)
