Matt's New Job

You may have heard I started a new job recently.  Well, the rumors are correct.  I threw myself into the world of financial planning.  Actually it has been in the works since last May but I have only really been going into the office for a couple of months so far.  I scored a 92% on my series 7 exam  in early August and have been hitting the office somewhat regularly since then.  I am currently working as a registered representative assistant for Bill Whidden at Proactive Financial Management.  Ultimately (and hopefully sooner than later) I aim to become a registered representative and financial planner myself although I need to start building a client list before that can happen.  Once I can achieve that I will essentially be my own boss and have my own business although I will still work closely with Bill and will work under the Proactive Financial Management umbrella.   While I love the job and financial planning is something I can definitely see myself doing for the long-term I have to admit that it is difficult trying to get people to come in and give me a chance.  I feel confident that I can do a good job though and hopefully things will pan out and I will start building a reputation as someone who will relentlessly work to achieve my clients goals.  Wish me luck.
