The Mid Columbia Children's Chorus is returning! This community choir is
directed by Mark Steighner and is open to boys and girls (public school, private
school, or home school) in grades 5-8. The choir rehearses one
evening per week and performs 2-3 times per year, usually in conjunction with
high school events.
Membership
requirements: Students must be in grades 5-8 (younger students will be accepted
only by arrangement). Students must successfully demonstrate the ability
to match pitch with the piano and with other students. Membership will be
determined by audition. The ability to read music is not required but is
certainly helpful.
Once accepted, students
will commit to attending weekly rehearsals and performances. Members who
miss rehearsals without making prior arrangements (unless due to emergency) will
be asked to leave the group.
Members will be
expected to bring music to rehearsal, practice their parts outside of rehearsal,
and give their attention and focus during rehearsal.
AUDITIONS and FIRST SESSION
are MONDAY SEPTEMBER 29. Contact Hood River Community Education office to
register.
