Wind River Watershed Council
The
Wind River Watershed Council was formed in the mid-1990s, to help guide
restoration efforts in the Wind River
watershed. UCD facilitates the efforts of the Council. Currently the group is
chaired by Dan Gundersen, a landowner on the lower portion of the Wind River.
In
the past, the Council met monthly, on the third Wednesday of the month from
6:00pm to 8:00pm. Due to changes in funding and decreased active
participation, meetings are now on an as-needed basis, so please call UCD or
e-mail Tova Tillinghast to confirm meeting times or to be added to our contact
list to receive notices of future meetings: 509-493-1936, tovatillinghast@gorge.net.
If an issue affecting the
Wind River watershed concerns or interests
you, please contact Tova Tillinghast (above), and we can arrange to invite a
speaker and conduct an informational meeting.
Similarly, if you know of a community event that is aimed at enhancing
natural resources in the watershed, please send information about this event
to Tova Tillinghast so that it can be sent on to this group.
