This is the before picture of a "Barn Fresh" 1953 BMW R 51/3. The bike is a 500 cc
opposed "Boxer" twin. The engine is exactly the same engine as the 1955-1960 R-50.
As you can see from the pictures below, I am in the process of a complete restoration of it.
