1971 Velocette LE
This is the actual last Velocette to made at the factory. I purchased it with about 150 miles on it, and it now has about 500.
Two of these were purchased when it was apparent Velocette was going to liquidate. I have full documentation for the bike which
will be found on the LE page on this site.
1950 Velocette MAC
This has become one of my very favorite bikes. I did a complete restoration on the machine in 2008. It is a very fun bike
to ride and I went touring on it at the North American Velocette Rally in Northern California. Even though its a rigid
frame bike it is very comfortable to ride for long distances with no fatigue.
John's "English" Bikes Continued
This is a Sunbeam S7, which is an inline twin with shaft drive. The drive is a Wormdrive. There is a separate page on
the restoration of the bike. Also, if you are interested you can visit "Classic Glory" by pushing on the button below.
I sold this bike a few years ago.
1971 Indian Velo
This is one of the fairly rare "Indian Velo". Floyd Clymer owned the Indian name and wanted to bring it back. He had about
150 500CC Indian Velo's made in Italy with Italian motorcycle components and Velocette Engine and Transmission. He also had
750cc bikes made with Royal Enfield Interceptor Engines, shown below.

1950 Vincent Comet
I had been looking for a Vincent for
several years, and happened upon one to restore in late 2004. I finally got one for my collection
and hope there will be others to follow. Navigate to the Comet page for more pictures, including a "Before" picture.
This was my first attempt at restoring a british bike. My brother bought one of these new in 63 or 64. According to Cycle World's Road Test, it was the fastest bike in that year. They claimed an honest 120 miles per hour. The bike had sat in Idaho with the top end off the engine apart for about 30 years. The tank had been sculpted with bondo, and the tool box had been converted to an air box/air cleaner. A very comfortable smooth and powerful bike.
Above left is a 1957 Ariel Square Four which I restored in 2007. Its finished in Cherokee Red, which was an option for US delivered Ariels in 57. The 56 on the right is mostly an original paint bike. I re-built the engine on it, and it turns out that it is too good to restore. I recently bought a 1953 Square Four, and will be restoring it soon. I may document the restoration, so check back from time to time for another page!
