My
Hobbies
My hobbies have varied over the years, and continually do
so. I like to fly, shoot black powder rifles, four wheel either in my jeep, or
on my Yamaha Warrior. I also like to travel in our motorhome, a 24’ Coachmen.
I’m also involved in ham radio, having been introduced to
that by my late friend, Commander John H. Hogan, USN Retired. I have an Extra Class License N7HKK, Johns
call sign was KC7GY and he had an Advanced License. He was an avid ham, having
been licensed since 1932. John was always tinkering with radios and antennas.
He’d just show up “with a new antenna he’d built” for Ron. Incidentally, John
was the previous owner of my 71 Jeep CJ5. Another obsession I have, is a
fascination with Hummers aka Hum-V’s. I’m sure that I drive my wife nuts with
her constantly hearing about copters, hummers, and shooting!
More on my hobbies later… here are a few pictures of the Vortex Sport Copter, my latest dream! It is the
first Gyro-copter to successfully perform a loop.
