The
amateur radio examinations are based upon knowledge of electronics (basic
electronics for the Technician Class, to more advanced electronics for the Extra
Class), FCC Rules, Amateur Operating Procedures, and Radio Theory. It's best to
take a class, rather than just try to memorize the questions and answers from
the question pools. Why have the license if you don't understand what you
really need to know?
The
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) publishes several books, that are in an
interesting and readable format. These license manuals, are part of the ARRL
integrated learning system, and I can highly recommend them. If you'd like to
