FIRE CLASSES:
Courses are numbered. Classes beginning with an S cover
suppression, beginning with an I cover the Incident
Command System (ICS).
100-level courses
are for first-time fire fighters. The introduction to
fire fighting is S-130 and S-190.

PHYSICAL TRAINING:
The best reference to begin a training program for
wildland fire fighting is Brian Sharkey's Fitness
and Work Capacity, available from
the National Interagency Fire Center for 88 cents. To

will need a credit card number.
