5.13: Two months to the day since we broke ground. The backfilling is done and the forms and rebar are in for the back strip footing.
5.15: The footing and stem wall forms are ready for mud -- the 5th concrete pour of the job.
5.16: The water and sewer lines have been plumbed to the street and the water is hooked up.
5.22: We poured 10 more yards of concrete for the back footing and stem wall. We had to pour this part before we could go any further -- we need the stemwall to support the ledger to support the floor so we have something to stand on while we build the next floor.
6.3: We been waiting almost 3 weeks for main floor beam. We finally got it late Friday. Saturday Peter and Matt got the first two sections of the beam in and a few of the floor joists. In the picture below you can see the largest beam on the deck waiting to move over the garage. The largest section of the beam (which is 8.75x12x44 overall) is 17' long and weighs about 425#.
6.4: On Sunday Glenda, Peter and a few of the neighbors got the third and largest section of the beam in. P&G then finished off the majority of the floor joists and got a bit of plywood down.
6.5: One day later:
6.6: Yet another day:
6.9: After 6 straight days of work we poured the second floor -- our 6th pour of the job. Here are the results.
