It's a mixed blessing to have 90% of our house in a gravel pit. The ground is of course stable, and the drainage is good, but it's a lot of work to clean up the footings. The standard footings are 30" wide with 3 pieces of 1/2" rebar. The retaining wall footing (95 feet long end to end) is 5'6" wide, and has 6 pieces of 5/8" rebar placed horizontally. It has 3/4" rebar placed vertically 16" on center (OC). The wall has 1/2" rebar 12" OC horizontally. We passed the footing inspection on 3.27. Mud Day We pumped a total of 27 yards on 3.30.
