Courtney Kendrick, a fourth grader at The Dalles Adventist School, has won a first place in the ‘Student Healthy Lifestyle’ contest sponsored by the North American Health Ministries Department of the Seventh-day Adventist church. Courtney’s poster admonishing young people to ‘Quit Smoking While You Still Can’ was chosen as the best entry from among several hundred posters done by students in grades 1-4 throughout all of North America. She won a $250 dollar prize plus another $250 for use by her classroom in promoting healthy lifestyles in the community.
