Jim and Kathy at the Oregon Coast in 2005

Jim retired from the US Forest Service in July 2002, and ended a second full-time career managing the Underwood Conservation District in late 2007.  Currently, Jim is working part-time for the Conservation District, working part-time for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, doing volunteer work, and enjoying a bit more Astronomy when skies are clear.

The hobby that consumes Jim the most is astronomy.  He spends time viewing with a 4-inch refractor and a 20-inch reflector, enjoying Trout Lake’s dark skies.  Jim is also on the Board of the Mt. Adams Resource Stewards, promoting Community Forestry in the area, and (along with Kathy) is on the Board of the Trout Lake Community Foundation.

Kathy is working at Trout Lake Farm, in accounting. Trout Lake Farm produces organic herbs, such as Echinacea and Valerian. Check out their web page at www.troutlakefarm.com.   Kathy is an enthusiastic woodworker, and is enjoying the new shop at the back of our new garage.  She is a long-time Board Member with the Trout Lake Community Foundation, providing scholarships for local students.
