Oven Roasted Pork Ribs
- 1 or 2 boneless, country-style pork ribs, cut into pieces that will fit in a
crock pot
- 2 tsp dry BBQ rub (see below)
- bottled BBQ sauce
- Season ribs: Rub liberally with dry BBQ rub.
Refrigerate for
one hour.
- Place ribs in crockpot, cover and cook on low for 5 hours. (at
about 250 degrees F)
- Heat oven to 275 degrees F. Remove ribs from crockpot and place in uncovered oven pan.
Heat for 30 minutes, turning once, to form a crust.
- Cover ribs liberally with bottled BBQ sauce. Raise oven temp to
300 degrees F. Heat ribs about 30-45 minutes until they look good.
- Optional: Heat ribs under broiler to partially
blacken.
- Remove ribs from oven and allow to rest under cover
for at least 30 minutes.
- Serve.
DRY BBQ RUB
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- pinch cayenne pepper
- 1 TBL salt
Mix and store in jar at room temperature.
Useful for pork and chicken, and sometimes beef. (But it's usually
too sweet for beef.)
