Ham & Rice Bake
version 1:
- 1/2 can Cream of Mushroom soup (undiluted)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup cubed ham
- 1 mushroom, sliced
- 1 slice onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 1/4 cup rice, dry
- pepper + paprika
Preheat oven to 375 deg. F
Mix ingredients in bowl and pour into oven-proof casserole.
optional: top with crushed saltines, grated cheese, and/or margarine
Cover casserole dish and bake for 45 min.
version 2:
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup rice, dry
- 1 cup cubed ham or other meat
- 1 slice onion, chopped
- 1 mushroom, sliced
- 1 TBL green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 TBL bacon grease
- 1 TBL sour cream
- about 1/8 cup grated cheddar
Preheat oven to 375 deg. F
Mix ingredients in bowl and pour into oven-proof casserole.
Top with cheddar. Cover dish and bake for 45 min.
