Cider Braised Pork Chop
- pork chop (blade chop is best)
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 TBL flour
- 2 TBL apple butter
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 1/2 tsp balsamic vinegar
- Season pork chop with garlic salt, let chill in refrigerator
for about a half hour
- Sear chop for about 6 min total time in hot skillet with oil
- Remove chop to plate.
- Add oil if necessary and sizzle chopped onions about 10 min
- Add minced garlic, stir for 30 sec. Add flour and stir for 1 min.
- Add apple butter and apple cider. Bring to boil. Reduce heat.
Return chop to skillet. Cover and simmer for 20-30 min.
- Turn off heat. Remove chop from skillet and keep warm under cover.
- Stir in balsamic vinegar. Taste and season as necessary. If sauce
is too thin then continue simmering without cover to reduce to desired
thickness.
- Serve chop with sauce spooned over top.
