Cider Braised Pork Chop



  1. Season pork chop with garlic salt, let chill in refrigerator for about a half hour

  2. Sear chop for about 6 min total time in hot skillet with oil
  3. Remove chop to plate.

  4. Add oil if necessary and sizzle chopped onions about 10 min
  5. Add minced garlic, stir for 30 sec. Add flour and stir for 1 min.

  6. Add apple butter and apple cider. Bring to boil. Reduce heat. Return chop to skillet. Cover and simmer for 20-30 min.
  7. Turn off heat. Remove chop from skillet and keep warm under cover.
  8. Stir in balsamic vinegar. Taste and season as necessary. If sauce is too thin then continue simmering without cover to reduce to desired thickness.

  9. Serve chop with sauce spooned over top.
