Chicken and Dressing
- 1 chicken breast or 2 chicken thighs, skinned
- 8 slices bread (heels of loaves are good)
- soup mix:
pinch sage + pinch celery salt + 1 tsp dried minced onions
+ 1/4 tsp onion powder + paprika + oregano
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1 TBL margarine
- 1/2 can Cream of Mushroom soup (undiluted)
- 1/4 cup milk
- extras: sliced black olives, chopped mushrooms, chopped celery

- Preheat oven to 350 deg. F
- Heat 1/2 cup water and 1 TBL margarine in large mixing bowl in
microwave until steaming hot. Stir in dry soup mix
- Tear bread slices into small pieces and drop into hot water and
soup mix. Add any extras, like olives or mushrooms, and squeeze with
fingers until it looks like dressing.
- Scoop out dressing and place in bottom of greased casserole
dish.
- Season chicken with garlic salt and place on top of
dressing.
- In separate bowl stir 1/4 cup milk into 1/2 can Cream of Mushroom
soup until creamy smooth. Pour mix over top of chicken and
dressing.
- Cover and bake in 350 deg. F oven for 1 hour 15 min.
