EXPERIENCE

1970 Laboratory Assistant, Earlham College. Assisted instructor with beginning geology labs.

1971 (summer) Research Assistant, Earlham College. National Science Foundation Undergraduate Research Identified and counted Quaternary fossil gastropods. Results of this study were published in: Camp, M.J., and Ginder, A.L., 1978, Pleistocene Mollusca of the Sunbeam Prairie lacustrine deposit, Darke, County, Ohio, Ohio Journal of Science 78:111-118

1975-1976 Research Assistant, University of Iowa. Processed and identified pollen from Quaternary lake deposits; this study provided much of the material for my thesis. The project was supported by a National Science Foundation grant.

1978-1981 Research Specialist, Archaeometry Laboratory. University of Minnesota at Duluth. Collected and prepared modern plants for pollen samples; identified and counted fossil pollen, primarily from Holocene sediment cores from Mediterranean coastal sites. In addition to three references below, the results were presented in:

a dissertation John Gifford (Center for Ancient Studies, University of Minnesota)

-Jennifer Moody, Oliver Rackham, George Rapp, Jr., 1996, Environmental Archaeology of Prehistoric NW Crete, Journal of Field Archaeology, Vol. 23, No. 3, pp. 273-297

1981-1982 Teaching Associate, Arizona State University. Taught lab sections of beginning biology.

1982-1985 Teaching Assistant, Texas A&M University. Taught lab sections of beginning biology, botany, and geology.

1986-1987 Research Assistant, Texas A&M University. Prepared and evaluated pollen samples from South Texas Eocene lignites.

During the spring of 1989, I consulted for British Petroleum, Alaska, identifying and counting pollen and spores from the Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary.

1995-1997 Research Affiliate, Dept. Geology & Geophysics, Texas A&M University.

Christmas 1996-7 Marine Instrumentation Specialist, Geological and Environmental Research Group, Texas A&M. Archived sediment cores aboard ship from Gulf of Mexico.

1998-1999 Research Associate, Dept. of Geology and Geophysics, Texas A&M University. I am working on multivariate analysis of worldwide mid-Carboniferous microfloras.
