Introduction to Combined Driving

The weekend is devoted to Combined Driving, covering rules, scoring, timing, pacing, conditioning and strategy. Lecture, demonstration and practice sessions will effectively prepare you for your first competition.

Friday evening we will meet for a discussion of how to prepare for combined driving competitions, and meet with fellow drivers. Saturday each driver will receive individual tuition on Dressage tips and techniques while actually driving ADS Training Level Test I.

Sunday's Marathon will include all three sections, with Sec A and B for practice pacing and timing, and Sec E for Obstacle practice. Everyone will have the opportunity to drive each obstacle several times, with different gates. The Cones course will also be driven at least twice. Monday will offer the opportunity for a limited number of private driving or groundwork lessons.

The emphasis throughout will be on developing a partnership between horse and driver, building a foundation for many years of successful competition.
