Riders enjoyed great views, a little snow, and apparently the Welches brought wineglasses. |

Chapter Ride Report: Mt. Adams Wilderness (PCT) At Williams Mine Trailhead Sunday, August 16 Report by Connie Baugher, Trail Scout
Six Chapter members and two guests enjoyed almost perfect weather for our ride up to the base of Mt. Adams. We had lunch at Horseshoe Meadow where there were still lots of great flowers and NO BUGS. From there we rode east to water the horses at the nearest creek and found everything dry except Cascade Creek. This made for a round trip ride of 16 or 17 miles. The thing that impressed us all was Iris Bennett’s 3-year-old filly, Tia. She was great. On the Friday before Larry and Phyllis Hale and Gene and I rode in on the PCT to check out the old PCT for making a loop ride and decided that it wasn’t a good option. Had a nice cool day for the ride, saw two deer and even got one short look at the mountain. We are so lucky to be able to ride in such beautiful country. |
